IEC 60529(GB4208-2008)IP Protection Grade Waterproof and Dustproof test

Image
IEC 60529 IP code is a coding system to indicate the degrees of protection provided by an enclosure against access to hazardous parts, ingress of solid foreign objects, ingress of water and to give additional information in connection with such protection IP code includes 4 digits, like IP23CH. IP short for ingress protection; numeral 2 stands for first characteristics and can be instead by numerals 0 to 6 or letter X (not requires to specified), it indicates enclosure against ingress of solid foreign; Numeral 3 standards for second characteristics and can be instead by numerals 0 to 8 or letter X (not requires to specified), it indicates enclosure against ingress of water with harmful effects. Letter C is additional letter, indicates enclosures access to hazardous parts, can be instead by letters A, B, C and D, but this characteristic can be ignored; Letter H is supplementary letter, can be instead by letters H, M, S and W, but this characteristic can be ignored. In this article, we j...

LISUN 3M Integrating Sphere Test Results Comparison

Image
Lisun engineers visited Barcelona recently, this visit was mainly to install the  3m Integrating Sphere Test System for the customer and provide training service. This customer compared the test results of Lisun’s 3m Integrating Sphere Test System with the test results of Holophane(HEL) and LIA Laboratories.  This customer provided 4 samples to the third lab. Compared with LIA Laboratories, our tolerance are controlled within 5%: HAL – LED Highbay: 4.6% VMX LED Luminarie: 2.3% Corn Lamp: 2.5% Platek – Target Medium Prioette LED Luminaries: 0.5% The test report of Platek tested by Lisun 3m Integrating Sphere Test System The test report of Platek tested by LIA Laboratories-1 The test report of Platek tested by LIA Laboratories-2 Lisun Instruments Limited was found by LISUN GROUP in 2003. LISUN quality system has been strictly certified by ISO9001:2015. As a CIE Membership, LISUN products are designed based on CIE, IEC and other int...

What are PAR, PPF, PPFD and How to do the measurement

Image
When LEDs arrived on the market, their tremendous efficiency and money saving potential changed the playing field and lumens, lux and candela finally became obsolete metrics for determining light requirements for plants. Recently, people began referring to PAR, PPF and PPFD as ways to measure light in photosynthetics lighting applications. The purpose of this article is to explain what these terms mean, correct some common misunderstandings and help growers understand how the science behind these terms can be used to determine proper light levels to grow happy, thriving plants. What the is PAR? Our LED fixtures emit extremely high PAR levels, PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) is a much used (and often misused) term. It defines the type of light (scientists call light “electromagnetic radiation”) needed to support photosynthesis in plant life. Through photosynthesis, plants convert light energy into chemical energy, which is the food they use to grow and thrive. As we all...

Why should you choose a constant current power supply for the LED driver?

The LED is a light-emitting diode, and its characteristic curve is basically the same as that of a normal diode. When the applied voltage reaches the diode conduction voltage, the slight change of the applied voltage can cause a great change in the diode current. The constant current is used to ensure that the current in the LED is constant. No matter how the voltage changes, the current flowing through the LED does not change, which can ensure the life and light decay of the LED. If a constant voltage source with an output of 12V is used, an electric 16 ohm resistor is connected in series to supply three strings of 0.5W 5630 lamp beads. The lamp voltage is calculated according to 3.3V, the current flowing through the lamp bead Io=(12-3*3.3)/16=0.131A, and the power of a single lamp bead is P=0.131*3.3=0.4323W. Because the temperature of the lamp bead is high The voltage of a single lamp drops to 3V. At this time, the current Io=(12-3*3)/16=0.187A, the current increases by 5...

The Status of Waterproof Test Equipment in China Market

Image
Waterproof grade reflects the ability of moisture-proof of products. Especially for outdoor activities, it is unavoidable to be in the harsh environment of high humidity. The sealing and water-proof ability of the instrument is very important to ensure the safe of operation and life of the instrument.     At present, there are many manufacturers producing waterproofing equipment on the market. What are the advantages of LISUN waterproof equipment compared with other manufacturers? There are some advantages for LISUN waterproof in below: 1. On the side of excellent cost performance, In test equipment market, the quality of LISUN waterproof equipment is good than the waterproof equipment of most of suppliers. Please kindly see Figure 1 and Figure 2. Besides, the price of LISUN waterproof test equipment is very competitive in market. Right price with good quality is cost-effective products for our customer to make a good choice for test equipment. Compare to Figure 2,...

What’s new: IEC 61000-4-5 Second Edition vs. Third Edition

Image
IEC 61000-4-5 is part of the IEC 61000 series, which describes surge immunity testing caused by over-voltages from switching and lightning transients. The second edition of IEC 61000-4-5 was released in 2005 and has been in use for many years. The third edition was released as an EN standard in 2014. The general philosophy of the third edition is unchanged from the second edition. However there have been a number of refinements to the standard: additional explanation to clear up ambiguities, new descriptions that were not included in the second edition, and new (informative) Annexes that can be used to help in the application of the standard. The purpose of this article is to outline the changes and additions that are now part of IEC 61000-4-5 3rd edition. Critical Transition Dates Transition from the second edition to the third edition is already taking place within the EU according to the following dates:19 Mar. 2015 – Date of Publication (dop): The third edition has to be impl...

What is color difference SDCM and how to do the measurement?

Image
Color difference is an important indicator of lighting lamps color performance. Color difference is the difference between computer calculation forma and the target standard, calculated by single lighting source, the value is smaller, accuracy is higher. Please note, it only represents the compared color of a light source, it can not detect the deviation under different light sources. Generally speaking, color difference refers to the distance that the measurement value deviates from the target value, the difference between the light source spectrum and the standard spectrum. It needs provide the target value and calculation formula to know the measurement value of color difference. Standard spectrum changes with color temperature, the color difference is different for the same light source if the standard spectrum is different, but when test, general color photoelectric analysis system can automatically identify the color temperature range where the measured light source is, to dete...
