

This case features a leading Thai lighting manufacturer founded in 1995, specializing in R&D and production of high-performance LED lighting—including indoor commercial lights, outdoor streetlights, and plant growth lights. For over 30 years, the company has focused on upgrading lighting optical performance and energy efficiency, supplying products to local municipal governments, large shopping malls, and agricultural technology enterprises. In 2024, to meet the strict optical testing requirements of international clients (especially for European and Southeast Asian markets), the company decided to invest in a professional goniophotometer system that complies with global standards like LM-79-19 and EN13032-1.
The customer initially learned about LISUN’s LSG-1800 series through industry exhibitions and subsequent online product research. As their products cover multiple categories (from small LED downlights to large outdoor floodlights), they had clear and strict demands for testing capabilities:
• Fully comply with LM-79-19 and EN13032-1 standards to ensure test results are recognized globally.
• Support 3D light intensity distribution testing for diverse products, as well as key parameters like luminous flux, luminous efficiency, UGR (Unified Glare Rating), and EEI (Energy Efficiency Index).
• Accommodate large-sized fixtures (up to Φ1600×600mm) and handle a maximum weight of 60kg to cover their outdoor lighting product line.
Enable export of test data in CIE, IES, and LDT formats for direct integration with lighting design software like DiaLux (a must for client project submissions).
After reviewing the customer’s product range, darkroom dimensions , and testing needs, LISUN recommended the LSG-1800A High Precision Rotation Luminaire Goniophotometer. This model not only meets their requirement for testing large fixtures but also features high-precision components—such as Japanese Mitsubishi servo motors and German encoders—to ensure stable operation and accurate angle control. Additionally, we proposed matching it with a LPCE-2 high-precision spectroradiometer to support spatial correlated color temperature (CCT) testing, further enhancing their product quality control capabilities.
Solution Finalization and Equipment Delivery
After receiving the detailed technical proposal, the customer organized a team to visit LISUN’s China headquarters for on-site verification. During the visit, our engineers demonstrated the LSG-1800A’s testing process for a 1.5m-diameter streetlight—showcasing its ability to automatically generate 3D light intensity curves and export IES files in real time. The customer confirmed that the system fully met their expectations and signed the contract immediately after negotiating the budget.
To ensure smooth follow-up installation, LISUN’s engineering team first collected the customer’s darkroom layout drawings (including power supply, ventilation, and grounding positions) and provided a customized darkroom renovation guide. While manufacturing the LSG-1800A system, we maintained weekly communication with the customer to sync progress; the customer completed darkroom upgrades (such as light-tight treatment and ground load reinforcement) in parallel, ensuring alignment with the equipment’s installation requirements.
In early October 2025, the LSG-1800A system—packaged with shockproof and moisture-proof materials—was safely delivered to the customer’s factory in Bangkok.
Installation, Training, and Collaboration Outcomes
Given the LSG-1800A’s complex structure (including rotating probes, reflective mirrors, and cross laser calibration devices) and the high precision required for optical testing, LISUN dispatched two senior engineers to the customer’s site for a 5-day on-site service:
• Precision Installation: The engineers first calibrated the darkroom’s levelness and grounding resistance, then installed the system’s main frame, probe assembly, and servo motor components. They used the built-in cross laser device to fix the fixture testing position, ensuring no deviation in measurement angles.
• System Calibration: They connected the LSG-1800A to a standard light source (calibrated by a third-party authority) for accuracy verification, adjusting the probe’s sensitivity to ensure Class A-level precision.
• Comprehensive Training: Training covered both hardware operation and software usage—including fixture clamping, test parameter setting, data export, and troubleshooting of common issues (e.g., probe signal instability). The customer’s 8-person technical team conducted hands-on operations, and engineers provided one-on-one guidance until all members could independently complete a full set of tests.

The LSG-1800A successfully generated a 3D light intensity distribution map, calculated a luminous efficiency of 135lm/W, and exported an IES file that was directly recognized by DiaLux. The customer’s quality director commented, “The LSG-1800A not only helps us meet international market standards but also cuts our product testing cycle by 50%—greatly accelerating our new product launch.”
